About
us
The Michael Project is a ministry
of Greystone Park Christian Fellowship in Harare, and has been established
as a result of the growing needs of children at risk in Zimbabwe. The United
Nations have predicted that within the next 10 years, 45% of all children
living in this country will be orphaned due to AIDS.
Michael, after whom the Project is named, was an AIDS orphan adopted by Sue
Austen in 1994. His natural parents were Mozambican refugees and victims of
the AIDS virus. Michael died in 1995.
Under the chairmanship of Dr Rikki Decker, we are currently working with orphaned
and vulnerable children in six communities in the Mashonaland and Matabeleland
provinces of Zimbabwe.
